About Magma

Magma is a startup that has quickly grown to become the leading platform for data-driven math education. By leveraging handwritten solutions in a digital format, Magma allows teachers to place emphasis on creativity in math, while gaining key insights into student progression. This creates a more engaging, inclusive and pedagogical math class for all students. Math remains the largest challenge for schools, where one in five students in year 9 are low performers. Math is one of the core pillars on which careers are built, and we believe that K-12 math represents one of the largest opportunities at improving educational outcomes and career prospects for children and young adults.  Originally founded in Stockholm, Magma is now growing rapidly across Europe and the US, with offices in New York and London. We are an ambitious team on a meaningful mission of improving math education for millions of children.

The Role

This is a chance to work alongside one of the founders of Magma. You will be supporting in a wide range of tasks and find out what it’s really like to build a startup and scale it internationally. As a Founders Associate you will be solving problems stretching from how to scale into new countries to solving daily and administrative challenges with the aim of offloading the founder. You will have the opportunity to work with all teams across Magma, stretching from Product to Sales and Customers Success. This is a great opportunity for the entrepreneurial spirit who wants to see what it’s like running a startup!

Who you are and what you know

To succeed in the role you need to:

• Consistent high performer with a track record in any field from academics, to sport, arts etc.
• Be extremely action oriented where output and outcome is what matters most.
• Be a problem solver where a new challenge is the best thing ever and feel that you do not stop until you’ve figured it out.
• Be communicatively strong in speech and text in Swedish and English, and be a team player who works well with others.
• Have a high work ethic and be ambitious

Requirements

• B.Sc/M.Sc degree from Handels, KTH, LTH, Chalmers or other accredited university, in Economics/Industrial Economics or similar
• Completed the degree not necessary if you are on track <6 months
• Strong track record in any field
• Fluent Swedish and English
• A genuine interest in startups as a career path
